Leadership Program

We customize the Leadership Development Curriculum to meet the needs of your leadership team. It is typically conducted over a six-month period, allowing for incremental learning.

The program may include several modes of learning:

  • Assessment – learning begins with better understanding of personal strengths and weaknesses through completing the Myers Briggs assessment and Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI)

  • Workshops – learning together in cross functional groups. Each workshop includes a segment relating to how the various MBTI preferences impact the topic.

  • 1:1 Coaching – allows for application of learning to personal development needs.

  • Homework – ‘teaching” others about learning reinforces the concepts and engages the participant. It also creates accountability.

  • Networking - participants build their network with other participants and program facilitators.

  • Graduation – Participants are recognized by leaders in a celebration event. Each program participant shares a learning they gained from the program and how they applied it at your organization.

It can also include having each participant’s manager rate them on a survey at the beginning of the process and again with the same questions at the completion of the six-month program.

The curriculum can be created from the workshops listed below and others:

TRUST: The One Thing that Changes Everything

Trust has become the key leadership competency in the workplace today. Learn how to inspire lasting trust in personal and professional relationships. When trust goes up, the speed of getting work accomplished also increases. We’ll learn the behaviors common to high-trust leaders throughout the world. Trust begins with each of us personally, continues into our relationships, and creates leadership that inspires confidence.

Sharpening Your Influencing Skills

Most people, most of the time, operate on autopilot. They go through the day doing what comes naturally. To influence anyone, we have to give some thought to what we are doing.  Learn about the influence toolbox: Observe and Wait, Ask & Listen, Persuade and Convince. We need to view “office politics” as a normal aspect of work that needs to be managed. Let’s discuss the basic realities of organizational life and the essential components of political intelligence. We’ll discuss some specific strategies to improve political position and increase influence. This includes a facilitated panel discussion with organization leaders on topics such as “managing up”, influencing skills, enrolling stakeholders and professional development/ career development.

Building Communication with the Myers Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI)

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is the most widely used personality instrument in America. Its primary uses are to improve self understanding and to improve group communications.  It helps people discover their natural preferences for their source of energy, for information gathering and decision making, and lifestyle preferences. The focus is on appreciating the gifts and strengths of each Type and examining the impact of style differences on working together with their work team. Fun exercises are used to demonstrate each of the four preferences.

Negotiating Conflict

The TKI conflict assessment is taken in class or Conflict as Opportunity Workshop.  Learn how to better handle conflict at work through the use of the TKI Conflict assessment. Explore issues around why conflict occurs and how it impacts a diverse work environment. Practice an approach to resolving work related conflicts resulting from difference.

Coaching for Performance/ Team Success Workshop

Coaching is a skill that all leaders can use to build individual and team success. This workshop provides tools based on the GROW model – goal, reality, options, and will. We will discuss and practice coaching for professional development as well as coaching for performance feedback.

Leadership and Innovation Workshop

Apply and experience leadership approaches to innovation. Innovation is a process that requires different strengths during different phases. Participant’s MBTI results will help identify how to make the best use of strengths.
